Creative Questions: Meet the writer - F.J. Beerling

6 April 2021

Interview of the Month with Author F.J. Beerling

So, lets start with the easy ones...

What is your name? F.J. Beerling

What genre do you write? Imaginative children’s fiction

Which author would you like to invite for dinner? Stephen King

When did you start writing? 29 years ago

What does your writing space look like? A quiet conservatory

How often do you write? Every day except Sundays

Do you have any advice for those starting out? Don’t write what’s already been done. Don’t try to be better than anyone, be different, develop your own style and above all, enjoy writing.

What is your next project? I have several on the go! Twisty Tales volume 5 is one of them.

This section is a creative exercise. Book titles as questions.

let’s see what you come up with...

Does My Head Look Big in This? (By Randa Abdel-Fattah)

The hat helped! With a big brim and even bigger floppy-flowers, I was happy to smile for the photographer and wait for him to crop, chop, and cut and paste my new official image for my latest book. Now to work on trimming that ego of mine 😉

Can You Keep a Secret? (By Sophie Kinsella)

Keep a secret, absolutely, without a doubt. My lips are sealed, buttoned, mum’s the word, and, just between you and me, I can never remember what they are, now that would be telling!😉

Thank you so much
