How To Pitch Your Book Or Script As A Movie
Quick Tips For Writing That Killer Pitch
Everyone dreams of seeing their characters on the big screen. But if you get a chance to pitch your work, how do you do it and get it right?
Here we will look at the ten finger pitch - short and pithy. Easy to remember and the best way to get your story across without droning on or not giving enough information.

Draw two hands - or draw around your hands
Then in each finger write -
- in the little finger, put the story genre or genres, add a little more if needed but it must fit in the little finger.
- the ring finger is for the main character/protagonist, the ‘somebody’.
- the middle finger is given over to the end goal. what is your character after, what does he/she want/need?
- in the index finger the conflicts to be overcome.
- in the thumb, write your story’s unique idea, the selling point; Why should it be accepted?
Then you move to the other hand.
- write the story’s main actions in the thumb.
- then the change or lesson that needs to be learned/overcome in the index finger.
- the crisis moment (when the protagonist is at their lowest) in the middle finger.
- the final confrontation or how is the lesson learned.
- and, lastly, the climax, the resolution, the payoff, in the little finger.
This can be used for many different pitches and can also be used when writing your book to stay on track.New paragraph
