Find software that will make your writing the best it can be, then when you send it to publishers or agents they will not be turned off by bad grammar and simple mistakes.

Here are our top three for a writer on a budget.
Prowritingaid – Free and Premium

Easy to use. It can help you write more accurately online using a Chrome extension to check your spelling and grammar.

Ginger – Free and Premium

This is a very good free grammar checker.
There is also a sentence re-phrase tool and help with vocabulary enhancement.
Lastly…

Hemingway Editor – BEWARE THIS MAY NO LONGER BE A FREE PRODUCT

Very quick and easy, it checks readability.
But be aware it will often tell you to simplify your writing. It hates the passive voice.
It is one of the handiest tools a writer can have.
